Adolphe Rivet 1920 silver textile workers medal

This fantastic small silver medal is by Rivet. The obverse depicts a man working a textile loom and is signed "A Rivet". The reverse has a rectangular cartouche superimposed over flowers inscribed "Mme Trebouil Matie" with the initials "AR" and "1920" below. "Association Generale des Tissus et des Matieres Textiles" is around the edge. The rim is stamped with the cornucopia mark of the Monnaie de Paris and "Argent" for silver.

Adolphe Rivet (1855 – after 1912)
French sculptor, medalist and writer born in Périgueux in 1855,
He was a pupil of Jules Cavelier Oscar Roty and Hubert Ponscarme at l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
Exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français with honorable mention in 1888 and a second-class medal in 1908.
